January 10, 2010 | Year of Gratitude
1. I am thankful that I live on the water. When we first moved to this house, I was out in the yard, and I was like, “What is that smell?” Then I realized, Oh, i’ts The Sea.
2. Today we went out on my parent’s new boat for the first time. They have decided to be boat people in their retirement. This is awesome, of course, because it’s always nicer to KNOW someone with a boat than to have one yourself. It was a lovely day at sea, and we saw all kinds of wildlife, including these sea lions fighting for space on a bouy.

3. I am very grateful for a husband who always has my back, no matter the circumstances. I could kick an old lady and he’d be positive she was asking for it.

My dad has a boat. He loves it and gets annoyed with it at the same time.

Maybe don’t test the old-lady-kicking theory, eh? Thanks for the reminder that living near water should be celebrated. I sometimes drive out of my way so I can get a glimpse of the bay/sound/lake nearby.

hliv: What do you mean? That’s Commencement Bay!
Camille: Right? This is why it’t better to take advantage of the boats of others.
Rona: Yes! Hooray!
