Various updates

Hi there! I have various things to report. Firstly, I had a baby shower! I’ll do a more thorough post about it, but I want to collect all the pictures that were taken first so as to properly document. One thing I’ll post about is how proud I am of my PERFECT SCORE on the most kickass of baby shower games ever:

“You bitches are going DOWN. I got this.”

Please post your score in the comments. You can’t do worse than my mom who only filled in number 7.

Secondly, I would like to report that being Funemployed has allowed me more time to be domestic and I’m loving it. Last week, I made chili and cornbread for 7 adults and 5 kids and everyone claimed to enjoy it! Also last week, we had another couple and their lovely child over for dinner and I made a sundried tomato-chevre-sausage pasta recipe that involved reducing a sauce that also turned out great. And yesterday, I made these cupcakes for a friend’s birthday who loves chocolate and peanut butter:

Some of you more cooking-capable types may be thinking, big whoop, but I rarely cook for guests. We usually just go out when we have company, you know? And what we cook for ourselves is hardly ever appropriate for guests. I mean, it might be, but if you were serving whatever it is to guests, you would also need a side vegetable or some nice bread or something, and if it’s just us, we skip the veggie and split a bagel. Anyway, I’m loving having more time to be able to enjoy cooking instead of viewing it as a chore. Tonight is our second birth class and I signed up to bring treats this week. I’m about to go make Swistle’s Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Muffins. Will wonders never cease?

I don’t think I could get more than two right the SECOND time around! The cupcakes look yummy (of course, I’d have to pick off the peanut butter bits) – way to go, domestic goddess!

I am a little worried that this might lose something in the translation, so I hope I get proper credit. What a fun time you all must have had. I wish I could have been there! And, my oh my, what a good chef you are. I can’t wait to see how this gift grows in the time to come!

Hey, I made Swistle’s pumpkin chocolate chip muffins last weekend! And they are great! Easy and yummy, although they are best when they are fresh since they are pretty dense. I made a double recipe so I could use all of the canned pumpkin up.

you are such a cutie pie, nesty jenny. :D

What an awesome idea for a baby shower quiz! Of course, I only knew like 4 of those, and 1 of them because I watched Oprah yesterday and heard Nicole Kidman explain that the reason that they named their daughter Sunday Rose is because she and Keith like Sundays. Hmmmm…I like meatballs, but I think I’ll pass on naming my daughter that.

Yay for chocolate and peanut bake goods! They look delicious and very well made. I’m so glad that you’re Funemployed. Can you put in a good word for me so I can be a coworker of yours? Turns out I can’t even stand working part-time anymore.

Also, how do you look so goddamn amazing only a month before you give birth? You are GLOWING! Great outfit in the second picture, too. Much love!

Hooray for domesticity! I’m starting to be a little more domestic myself. I guess you could call it pre-nesting (no child on the way for a very long time). And those muffins do look DEE-LISH…too bad I can’t just pick one up of the screen. :D

Jill is right, you are totally glowing. What is your secret?
