Yesterday at about noon, I found myself still without a costume. We were considering being Juno and whatshisface, but without the orange stripey shirt, that left me in a nondescript tight t-shirt and hoodie, and SB in the entertaining shorts and wristsbands. Then there are all the slightly negative maternity costumes, the pregnant nun, the pregnant cheerleader, Bristol Palin and whatshisface, ect. I wanted something that actually utilized the belly, since that’s not an accessory I have every year, but wasn’t too trashy and wasn’t too embarrassing, either.
I was trying to think of round things I could paint on my belly, like a basketball, or a beach ball, or the world, and then I finally came up with the perfect round thing that allowed me to be topical and still comfortably dressed.

And just on the off chance you don’t recognize this symbol: (hey, there were actually a few at the party we went to who didn’t)

I was quite pleased with myself.
Totally cute. Although I would have liked the Juno costume too… mostly because of your accomplice in the headband and the shorts. Is that wrong?
Way to promote!
Right on, I love it! And I also loved the pics from Megan’s wedding. Everyone looked fabulous!
Outstanding! I am quite impressed. But Jill and I are debating how you put it on, because it looks so perfect! Willing to share your secrets?
That is awesome! Did you use a mirror or have some help to paint it on?
Awesome. I love it! I really wanted to paint my belly last year, I was about 32 weeks at Halloween but it was sort of cold and I got tired …
Hooray! What a canny and clever use of prime real-estate! I’m also pretty darned impressed by the paint job…. I had to look to find the button! Here’s a thought: maybe you should just keep that, just a few days, y’know? Election day is coming up, and it might be a great way to sway at the polls….. just thinking…
I love it! Great costume!
Holy cute, Batman.
nice utilization of the Bell-eh!
xo
I love it!!!
Thanks, all!
To answer the how was it done question, it was a team effort. I had a copy of the logo next to me and I drew it on first with a marker. I had a warm soapy washcloth nearby for when it went wonky. Then I started painting it myself, but it only looked good on top where I could see it, and all f-ed up on the bottom. So, SB helped. He did a pretty good job! It was hard for me to let go of control and just trust that he could handle it. Poor guy.
Am just catching up here and LOVING this costume. SO AWESOME.
