I am ALSO uninspired to buy baby clothes – what is up with that? Oh, and I was using a squirrel-shaped pillow to practice taking the baby in and out of the co-sleeper the other night. This is not strange.

starkers: Thanks! I’m glad we don’t know, still too. Though they keep saying it sounds like a boy, that silly wedding ring on a string trick says it’s a boy, and people keep telling me I’m all out front like it’s a boy. Of course, that sounds like the beginning of a great story…

Noreen: Yep, that’s the same bear. It’s a really nice one. And it feels so much like a baby! Though, I think it can hold it’s own head up better than your average new born.

hliv: Yeah, I’m sure we will go one way or the other once it’s here, but if it’s a boy, I am SO not going to want sports themed clothes.

peaches: It would be a CRIME to keep sweet Audrey out of pink! To be clear, if, it’s a girl, it’s totally game on with the pink. Just not now.

That bear is too cute, so are you. I don’t know if there is a Hannah Andersson near you, but they have pretty bold color clothing and none (or very little) have pictures or things on them. If you come down again, you’ll have to go check it out. I don’t know if you’re into hitting resale shops yet, but there is a lot of colorful stuff at them. I know some great places here in PDX.

I like the idea of “where’s teddy bear?” in your posts.

I found quite a few cute “unisex” items at thriftstores–and in the organic brands (lots of nice greens, oranges and “natural” colors). (hmmm…now I have even MORE gift ideas for you!!) I too had plans to eschew pink with Audrey, but then once she was born she just looked so damn good in it, so now that’s mostly what her wardrobe is.

First of all, I have to ask, is this bear the same one we see on the shelf in the photo below? I feel a recurring theme. Should we be looking for him/her in all photos?

What a fun adventure for you and Bear today? I am glad you got into it! It’s sad you have to dig so hard to find good, cute stuff that isn’t screaming “boy” or “girl.” I’ll keep my eyes open. I was lucky to have such good unisex hand-me-downs! I am confident Baby Jacobs will be well dressed.

I totally hear you on the lack of bold colors for baby (at least if you don’t want to spend $30 on a t-shirt they’ll wear for two months!). I can never find anything red except if it’s covered in baseballs or firetrucks. I started ordering plain onesies, t-shirts, and pants in red, olive green, black, and brown from someone called Andrew Christian on amazon.com. They sell American Apparel baby stuff for $5-8.

And your teddy bear looks adorable.
