Yes, we’re going on another trip. Don’t hate.

You must be thinking, how in the heck are they affording all these trips? How in the heck are they remaining employed? The answers are, I DON’T KNOW.

Last July, SB’s casting agency provided extras for this big commercial that filmed at The Gorge. They needed a ton of people and of course it was last minute. We ended up at a triple A baseball game in Yakima with clipboards, shouting at fans, “WE ARE LOOKING FOR EXTRAS TO APPEAR IN A FOX SPORTS COMMERCIAL THAT FILMS NEXT SATURDAY AT THE GORGE! NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!” Over and over again, to people who looked at us like we were crazy or trying to pull off some scam. It was NOT a fun way to spend an evening. But in the end, we did it, and a couple of months later we finally got paid for all our hard work.

We could have put the money in savings. We could’ve done some home improvements. I suppose we could have put the money towards the mortgage. But instead, we bought two tickets to Hong Kong for Chinese New Year.

So, we’re off! We’ll be staying with the Melvers (our good friends who moved there in July), trying to soak up as much visiting and baby sniffing as possible. We’ll do some touristy stuff, too. Heather says it’s so beautiful there right now, that everything is all decorated for Chinese New Year, there are red lanterns everywhere, and even the spectacular markets are even more spectacular than usual.

It should be a blast! Once we get there,  anyway. This is never a good thing to see on one’s flight itinerary:

yikes

I’m not sure if I’ll post while we’re there, but I’ll have great stories and kickass pictures when we get back. See you on the 12th or so?

I love that you go on so many trips, especially because you take such awesome pictures. Me = living vicariously. (In exchange, I offer you the opportunity to vicariously experience toddler barf.)

Live it up, sister. You have a life time to fix up the house, and travel is a different sort of challenge with kiddos. Enjoy Hong Kong, eat well, and post pictures for another girl who is living vicariously!
