I listened to many clips of Bush’s last State of the Union address on the way into to work this morning. Usually I mute the radio right away when I hear his voice, but today I listened.
I’m not here to comment on his rosy assessment of the state of the world, (Ha!) I just want to say it really, really bugs how he says ‘hunnert’ instead of hundred. Diction, Mr. President.
Also, how he says ‘a’ when he’s reading his speeches, like a second grader who’s just getting the hang of it. For example. “Tonight, I am instructing the leaders of the FBI, the CIA, the Homeland Security and the Department of Defense to develop AY Terrorist Threat Integration Center, to merge and analyze all threat information in AY single location.”

That speech impediment drives me crazy too. It would just be nice if our leader could represent us and speak properly. I sound like emily post..but I think she would agree. At least he doesn’t have a habit of saying “ain’t” in his speeches.
