New York City, reflections upon

January 7, 2008 | Travel

It took me a while to get started writing about New York because there’s just so much to say! We had such a great time seeing our wonderful friends. We laughed SO. MUCH. There’s just so much love in the room all the time!

Another friend we haven’t seen since the Melver party came from Cincinatti for New Year’s, and he brought his new-to-us girlfriend. And let me tell you, IRL friends who know of whom I speak, SHE’S AWESOME. This poor guy has a tragic romantic past and we were all praying that he had chosen well this time. And he did! We love her! She is HILARIOUS. Like he somehow found the female version of himself. (They might be reading this, thinking I am a weirdo for announcing this to the internets, but you understand, right? It’s such a relief when one of your remaining single friends finds a nice girl.)

And if you think THAT’S good news, that’s nothing! Our hosts are execting a long hoped for baby! It’s always exciting when someone’s expecting, but the joy is magnified when it’s two such wonderful people who want to be parents so badly.

…put it on your belly and look at it lovingly…  (I love it when people do what I say.)

So anyway, I’m having trouble getting started telling stories about New York, because the best part of the trip is really hard to put into words. The best part is just being with special friends, feeling the happiness of lovebirds and new life, laughing at the neverending shit-slinging between the boys, all underscored by the thrill of being on vacation. The best parts were when we were just drinking coffee in our PJ’s in Queens and laughing, laughing, laughing.

I'm Jenny. I'm in my 30's, I live in Tacoma, Wa, and I've been married to SB since we were children. We added baby Clark to the family in December of 08. This blog really has no point, it's just about me trying to live as zestily as possible while sharing observations and rants with you all. Speaking of which, you should start a blog. Blogging kicks ass.
