Shopping HOV lane

I’m having a fashion crisis. I need more work clothes BADLY. It’s so hard to put together five work appropriate outfits every week. You need ten, really, to last two weeks, so that you don’t re-wear things too often. I’m ashamed to admit that in my desperation, today I’m wearing a black turtleneck sweater that I wore on Monday. A sad state, indeed.

But since the malls are all crammed with stressy Christmas shoppers, I’ve been unable to do anything about my crisis. This is why I wish there was an express lane for people who are NOT Christmas shopping. I wish you could just cruise through the aisles, and in a business-like voice announce,

“EXCUSE ME. Excuse me. Coming through. I’m not Christmas shopping. I just need a fucking shirt.”

You work in Redmond. Head down 156th (south to Bellevue) and go to the Crossroads Mall at lunch. They have a Dress Barn there (I know awful name, cool clothes though) with lots of super cute things. Not too busy, even though it is Christmas.

  3. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AbsoLUTELY fabulous idea. I was at the mall on Friday for Christmas shopping but only had a few things. They should also invent an “express” lane for those of us who only have 5 items or less so we don’t have to get stuck behind the woman who can’t find her credit card, then has to check every single price on each item, and then think about if she really wants it or not…ARGH!!

    Dahli: Wouldn’t it?

Rhon: Oooh! Thanks fo the tip. I am not above shopping in a barn.

    chickadee: I know, right?

e: I do not wear SB’s clothes. He offers all the time though, and then I exasperatedly explain again why I won’t, and then turn around to see that he is teasing me.

    Jill: Thanks, love. :)

Camille: Yes, I agree. There should be somewhere for advanced shoppers to efficiently do their business without having do deal with the commoners……….or perhaps I should have love in my heart fot my fellow man. *sigh*

Sign me up for a shopping day with you. That sounds like fun. I am just getting to a good shopping place… We could stock up. And you know I love good fashion and a bargain.

  9. Jenny says:

Noreen: Yes, but I hate shopping. Can we have cocktails first?
