It’s been so event-y around here lately. I now return you to our normal programing of this and that.
My hood may be getting a little sprucing! There is an unsightly, empty corner nearby that may soon have a nice looking stripmall type-thing instead.

I wouldn’t normally get too excited about a stripmall, but it’s certainly better than what’s currently there. The most promising feature of the new developement is the presence of a DRIVE THRU. SB and I have hypothesized that fast food places with drive thrus are almost never attached to other businesses, so clearly, it MUST be coffee. Don’t you think? It has four retail spaces so I’m hoping for a tanning and nail salon, a good burrito joint, maybe a pho place, and a Starbucks or Cutters Point or whatever. I’ll keep you posted.

____________
In yard related news, my magnolia tree is about to explode. I’ll post another picture in a week or so and you won’t believe it.

I am also quite astounded at the miraculous return of some of my plants. Last spring, I paid no attention to whether anything was an annual or a perrenial, I just picked pretty ones. I did absolutely no winter maintenance, I just cut out all the dead stuff and let the pots become soupy, mud holes. But look!

The Bleeding Heart (liberal) came back! It’s grown like that from nothing in about two and a half weeks.
____________
I’ve recently discovered a new feature of my house. Our camelia tree is lovely, but I used to only appreciate it from the street. About a week ago, I realized if I OPENED THE CURTAINS, I could see it through this clear part of the wall.

So pretty!
Yeah for Spring! Glad you are happy about the strip mall. A coffee place would be cool!
Hey, are you up for dinner on Wednesday? Hope so. Cookies are almost done and I am ready for some fun!
OMG “…through this clear part of the wall” is freaking funny as hell! I am so stealing that phrase. It will impress my husband, he will think I am actaully clever.
Pretty flower-y tree!
Maybe he would think I was clever if I could actually spell actually.
Yay! Clear part of wall!!! HA!
Rhonwyn: Toatlly. I’ll cawl you. I just started the book though, and so far I’m yawning. Bad book club member, bad!
Jayare: Thanks! Sometimes I’m funny. And why can’t we edit our comments? I’m always making typos in comments and only noticing them after they’re posted.
serror: Hi! Glad to make you giggle.
curtains open?
and I wanna togo dinner too!
Kewl! Now, where to go in Ballard.
I am late in the posting, but I have heard rumor that one of the coffee place you mentioned is looking into that location. Fun, fun, fun!
Victorian: There was no dinner.
Rhon: Next time!
Nor: REALLY! Well. You would know!
