Everybody Wins

Last night some lovely friends threw a holiday shindig. It was a perfect evening that included right off the bird turkey sandwiches with all the fixins’, potato-squash-Martha Stewart soup, gingerbread house making, cookie decorating, and carol singing around the piano.
You know that was like all my favorite things together in one night. Add old friends and twinkly festive-ness all about and my joy-ometer has reached Giddy. [ sidebar: my BFF Loll likes to tease me when she can tell I'm getting all Giddy-fied. She makes this dinging noise, narrating my meter rising. It's pretty funny but strangely difficult to decribe in writing, I'm discovering. Moving on.]
SB and MP are seen here decorating cookies with very Martha paints made of eggs, but there is no red because MP recently made a red velvet cake. It should be noted that I don’t even own any food coloring so the idea of running out is pretty absurd, much like making red velvelt cakes while being a successful executive type.
The judging was fierce, but everyone was pleased with the results:
Even though C’s house met a cruel fate, a good time was had by all.
These people were all very good sports with my paparazzi-ness. I even got a good shot of the pet. I’m not a cat person so this will probably be the only cat picture ever to be posted on THIS blog anyway, but isn’t it cool how this cat is content to just hang out under the tree like a warm furry present and does not feel compelled to attack it or eat it?

In other news, sorry about that annoying clicking noise we were making for a few days. It seems to have had something to do with my flickr badge, and as far as I know, has ceased. Please let me know if you still hear it, or if there’s anything else bugging you. (Besides my side bar issues. I need help fixing them and it’s not the right time of year to ask such favors, ya dig?)
